2019 rehearsal dates

Session 1  features the beautiful and sublime Fauré Requiem and will also have three other stunning works.  These include Dubois’ Les sept paroles du Christ (The last seven words of Christ) in English, Stroope’s Lamentations of Jeremiah (sung in the 2014 Michael Houstoun concert) and Joseph Martin’s Even the Heavens Are Weeping.

Session 2  features one of Haydn’s greatest Masses – Mass No. 13 in BMajor (Schöpfungsmesse) (Creation Mass) with an orchestra.  (Note that this is NOT The Creation, which is a completely different work).  Coupled with this will be Mozart’s Dixit Dominus, Bach’s Cantata No. 34, and another Mozart piece for soloists.

Session 3 is based on spirituals with a little bit of gospel.  The highlight will be the cantata by Linda Twine – Changed My Name, first performed in NZ by the Kapiti Chamber Choir in 2013.
